Slingme creator Boo developed this compact easy to use durable strap after being marooned in flooded Southern Spain where vehicles became redundant due to the flooding and landslides. With no option other than going on foot the three females of the group climbed and slid down the mountainside, wading through waist high rivers to get supplies in the nearest town 5 miles away. Using a technique shown by an old friend of tying plastic bags together and slinging them over the shoulder they succeeded easily in transporting enough supplies for seven for a week... however, the knots digging in and the plastic cutting on the shoulder goaded Boo into designing what we now call Slingme.

Ever 'Green' Boo, believes that the Slingme will encourage users to recycle plastic bags, or better still encourage the use of reusable bags. In fact she is currently designing an eco-friendly reusable shopping bag to compliment the Slingme, as well as variations on the basic Slingme.

Not only can you say goodbye to sore hands and aching arms from struggling with your bags, but you can enjoy the freedom of having your hands free, enabling you to do .. Well anything! Push the baby's buggy, hold an umbrella, use your mobile, and take a healthy walk to your local shops helping to reduce your carbon footprint. Slingme is also great when it comes to using public transport, leaving your hands free to take out your bus fare and to hold on safely - the limitations are endless.

How simple to use?

Well, bag up shopping - evenly distributing weight between bags. Open out Slingme and feed through the bag handles. Reclasp locking handles in place. Then hey-ho sling onto your shoulder, with equal number of bags to the front and back. Easy as that. It's also possible to use two straps, one on either shoulder, when doing that extra bit of shopping.

The comfortable, padded strap is easy on the shoulder, and the weight of the shopping is spread evenly, making your shopping feel much lighter.

Endorsed by Osteopath Robi Persad ….

Osteopath Robi Persad, BSc(Ost), who practices in London and Spain, says of the Slingme, "the carrier allows the use of postural/stabilising muscles to relieve the strain on peripheral muscles which could otherwise cause shoulder and arm problems when carrying weight." He believes the Slingme would greatly benefit its users.

So what are the benefits of using a hands free Slingme, apart from no more sore hands? Many-

Hold onto your child
Get change out for the bus and pay without having to put all your bags down - normally in a puddle!
Use mobile phones
Hold umbrellas easily
Walk your dog on a lead
Carry your shopping while using walking sticks or crutches
Stand on crowded buses or tubes and be able to hold on!
Keep all your shopping bags together
Slingme is compact and will fit in most bags or pockets.
Making car-free shopping less of a strain
Oh, and wading through flood water!

And for the Car User:

Holding bags together in the boot
Easier unloading of shopping
And maybe leaving the car at home

In its simplicity, Slingme is a terrific product that we believe will change how we carry our shopping, and make local shopping a walking not driving experience.
